Every year on February 14th, men all over the globe scramble to find the perfect gift and or have the perfect activity planned for their favorite lady friend. Many spend hundreds of dollars while others run out of ideas on what to get or do. Have no fear, as below we discuss three tips aimed at men for Valentine’s Day so it’s a success and not a mess.
Hope you find a tips or two that helps you and nets you a great evening.
1. Plan Early
One of the best things you can do to make sure Valentine’s Day goes as smooth as a shot of Patron is to plan early. Think ahead to what you envision for the day and what needs to be done. Maybe you want to take your lovely to the hottest restaurant in town but it’s going to be crazy busy that night, this means you have to make reservations now. If you wait much longer, tables will not be available. The same applies to any other similar activities you have planned for the day that require a booking. Call early and get that reservation in place to avoid any possible upsets.
2. Make It Fun
Women love to laugh and have fun, yes I am generalizing here. But (most) women do love a good rocking time. With this in mind think of activities you’ve previously done that you both had a lot of fun with, or think of new and exciting things you’ve been meaning to do and never got around to doing. Maybe that is ice skating, maybe it’s going to see a rock concert together or it could include a drive to the most exciting city on Earth – Las Vegas. Key takeaway here is to do something different and break away from your usual routine, if only for this one night.
3. Save Money
It’s really not necessary to spend loads of money on Valentine’s Day. I can think of about ten activities off the top of my head that do not require hundreds of dollars yet are loads of fun. Think outside the box and go with ideas like a picnic in the park, bowling, skating, nearby road trip, concert, a play, museum, shopping spree at a chocolate store, etc. None of these are terribly expensive, yet can
be a lot of fun for the both of you. The best gifts are those that are personalized and no we don’t mean a polo shirt that has her initials on it, we mean activity ideas that she personally likes and or has enjoyed before. You know her better than anyone else, you know what she likes and responds to, so think about what she likes and plan accordingly.
Valentine’s Day is nerve wracking for many men, yet it doesn’t have to be. If you know your lady friend, you should know what she will likes. It’s a myth that you need to go to Tiffany’s and drop ten C notes on expensive jewelry to make her happy. This is not true and entirely a myth. Women love to laugh, love to be appreciated and love a good time. Give this to them and you’ll score BIG TIME
on Valentine’s Day and the many days after.

“It’s really not necessary to spend loads of money on Valentine’s Day.”
I couldn’t agree more! I’ve done both sides of the Valentine’s Day experience. My first ‘real’ girlfriend and I had 3 years of exchanging gifts and trying to ‘one up’ each other. It was exhausting and most of the time the presents didn’t really reflect our feelings.
My current girlfriend of 5 years and I do things differently and agree that opening your wallet or purse doesn’t buy happiness or sentiment. Cook dinner, watch a movie you hate but she loves. Little things certainly add up and are remembered LONG after the flowers have died and the chocolate has been eaten.
