Starting Fresh in the New Year: Count Down To 2008

The focus of my last blog was on forgiveness. This week’s blog focuses on the concept of hope. After you get a divorce you sometimes lose hope. But this is something that no one should have to abandon. As we approach 2008 let’s talk about how we can reconnect with our ability to hope once again.

One of the main reasons you still need to have hope is your child. This is the miracle that created the family that you share with your ex-spouse and this is the miracle that has given you a reason for living. If you ever lose hope look at your child and thank them for your elevated position of parent, spiritual guide and mentor.

Hope is something that can change the way you look at life, the way you experience emotions and the way you approach your daily tasks. You may be wondering what hope is. Hope is the cherishment of the belief that something positive is going to happen. Despite how it feels, there is hope after divorce. There is hope for new relations, new experience, new joys, new loves, new firsts, new triumph and stronger relationships with your children. When you really think about it, the trauma that you experienced from your divorce is actually an amazing breeding ground for hope.

This New Year I wish you good cheer and hope. Allow your hope to help you and your children cope with divorce, and deal with the affects of divorce on children in a positive manner. Let hope be your tool to allow you to see your children and divorce as two positive elements in your life.

Being pregnant and getting a divorce can be a difficult situation. However, don’t let a divorce ruin your pregnancy experience. Celebrate it!
