Well, Christmas is over and today you are probably thinking about doing very little. However, the day after Christmas is a great day to spend with your kids, if you don’t have to work. There are lots of things to do including shopping, playing in the snow, skiing and trying out your holiday gifts.
One of the drawbacks of holidays, children and divorce, is that you don’t get to spend every holiday with your kids. If you have your kids with you this holiday then make your time together special. Plan adventures, teach them something new, share holiday memories with them and let them share their interests with you. This is the best way to make holiday memories that they will tell their children about in the coming years.
If you don’t have your kids with you this holiday then there are still things that you can do to make it special. You can try doing something new and exciting, for example, you can try downhill skiing for the first time or you can try snowboarding, or you can spend the day pampering yourself at a local spa.
You can also use your quiet down time to complete year end tasks like organizing your financial papers for the upcoming tax season, or you can clean out the clutter in your home. This is also a great time to think about starting your own business or expanding the business that you all ready own. If you don’t want to start a new business then consider ways to upgrade your current career. For example, you can go back to school or apply for a new job.
