    Every year millions of American adults face the challenges created by major depression episodes. In fact, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 6.7 percent of American adults over 18 will have a major depression episode each year.

    Depression is a difficult medical condition to deal with because of the stigmas attached to “mental illnesses” and because it impacts so many aspects of your life. It is because of this that you will want to be mindful of the symptoms of depression, especially if you are going through a divorce. Quick treatment is key to minimizing the disruption this medical condition will have on your life.

    Identifying depression is not as easy as it may seem. This is because each person experiences it slightly different. For example, one person may exhibit symptoms like fatigue, muscle pain and a depressed mood, while another person will exhibit symptoms like hyperactivity, sleeplessness and workaholism.

    Divorce is a common catalyst for depression as it taxes your emotional health and your physical health. This extreme state of tension can go on for months or even years. This lowers your resiliency to emotional stress and can make you vulnerable to depression.     • Going through a divorce was never and will never be easy or fun!!! It is completely understandable that a person who is going through a divorce has some problems!! That is the nature of it. There is nothing wrong with feeling blue or depressed or whatever kind of bad feelings a person might have. In such a situation you are losing somebody. This is a huge loss! A person under this circumstances need to get plenty of sleep, healthy food and some distraction(meet with friends…) but for sure no medication.
